While digital culture has definitely taken hold, some artists are trying to rebuild a primitive
photographic experience. Just like researchers in fundamental physics, they explore in
a radical way how the photographic medium still contains mysteries and opportunities
to build our relationship to reality. They constitute a new generation of artists acting
outside of any identified genre (portraits, landscapes, etc.) and any identified practice
(reportage, fine art, documentary, etc.), bringing photography face to face with the
issues of the contemporary world.
